smart phones and communicators.
A WAP browser is a web browser
for mobile
devices such as mobile phones that uses the protocol.

WAP supports most wireless networks.
These include CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet Data), CDMA (Code division multiple
access), GSM, PDC (plan–do–check–act), PHS (Personal Handy-phone System), TDMA (Time division multiple
access), FLEX (fast lexical analyser generator), ReFLEX, Iden (Integrated Digital Enhanced
Network), TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio), DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless
Telecommunications), DataTAC, and Mobitex.
WAP is supported by all operating
systems. Ones specifically engineered for handheld devices include
PalmOS, EPOC, Windows CE, FLEXOS, OS/9, and JavaOS.
